about

The first album from New Orleans legendary 9th Ward Marching band. A neighborhood band started in 1996 on the downtown side of New Orleans' French Quarter. Over time, the band grew from 10 to over 100 and now marches in major parades during the Mardi Gras season. This album is full of classic rock and New Orleans RnB covers as well as original cadences and "rest beats". The album was recorded by Mark Bingham at Piety Studios in the middle of a parade. The band marched into the main room of the studio, played their set, and marched straight out to continue the parade. True story.
